I’ll Bet If Bingley Were Governor

…the sad stats attached to number 3 would perk up!

Of course, that does nothing for the folks on the rest of the list. Some of those local area unemployment rates are jaw-dropping.

    I see that Bangacola isn’t on the list. I’ll have to write Forbes about that.

    Well, judging solely by the “Sunny Days per Year” column *, the thing is complete bullshit.

    36 sunny days per year in Sacramento? What planet are these guys on?

    * – and how does “sunny days per year” become an economic indicator?

  3. major dad says:

    Have to agree with mojo, appears to be bullshit.

  4. mojo says:

    My bad, looks like a percentage. At least, there’s none over 100…

    Actually mojo…

    From the comments section;
    “The numbers in each category are where they rate among the 39 other areas graded. If there’s a 1 listed under the category it means that area rated the worst in that category, not the area had 1 day of sunshine or the unemployment rate was 1%.”

    That makes sense, Guns. Seattle is #3 for “sunny days per year”, outdone only by Portland, OR, and Pittsburgh, PA. The only surprise there is that Seattle isn’t #2 under this category.

    But it’s a fairly subjective analysis, or at least a very simple one. There are other factors that affect stress, some personal, some not. That is highly subjective, and not readily measured.

    So, yeah, it’s bullshit.
