I’m Wondering If the Worm Hasn’t Turned Completely

I mean, if even the AP is pointing out “NOT so fasts” in their Obamacare reports, there could be a disturbance in the Force, n’est pas?

…Obama also repeated his pledge that his plan would not add to the federal deficit or deny patients’ choices.

“Under our proposals, if you like your doctor, you keep your doctor. If you like your current insurance, you keep that insurance. Period, end of story,” he said.

That’s a pledge, however, beyond Obama’s control.

His plan leaves companies free to change their health plans in ways that workers may not like or to drop insurance altogether.

    From the AP article:

Obama rejected the criticism out of hand.

I went to a Tea Party protest yesterday, and we had an Obamabot show up. He pretty much followed Obama’s lead in that regards, and blew off or concerns with this insurance fiasco. He then started preaching how the deficit started under Reagan.

One buddy of mine responded by asking the Obamabot not to “…feed us a line of crap; we’re smarter than that.” This pretty much shut the Obamabot up, although he did go to the sideline, and had an earnest discussion with another Tea Party attendee. Everyone else ignored him.

I just wish we could do the same with Obama. Alas, we can’t.

I think the problem of health insurance is a key component to
    the survival of our economy.
    Businesses cannot survive with
    rising health insurance costs.
The problem is Bush and Obama
    spent three trillion dollars
needlessly to save the freaks with millions already. And there’s nothing left for the
    middle-class.It’s a hopeless situation. But,really Obama
has only been President six months.Bush is the true culprit, but Obama hasn’t done any better.

The real problem is the federal government sticking it’s honker into health care in the first place.

Medicare and Medicaid started the bureaucratic ball rolling and the HMO act along with SSI really exacerbated the problem.

Why doesn’t it occur to anyone that making health insurers the single payer will only result in insanely huge premiums. Hell, if auto insurance were treated like health insurance nobody but the richest could afford it.

As for the true culprit, greg, it takes a majority of representative and senators to get a bill to the President for signing so just pointing the finger of blame at Bush and Obama is misplaced.

I’m hopeful that people are going to continue questioning the whole health-care fiasco. (And a little F Yeah! to the blue-dog Democrats, for not just going along with what Obama wants).

If we get government health-care, I fully expect to see:

    1. Rationing of health care
    2. Subtle pressure on the ill elderly or the chronically ill to just “give up and die already” rather than take “scarce resources” from the taxpayers
    3. Mandatory BMI, waist-circumference, etc. checks, with enforced diet plans for anyone “failing” them, regardless of how healthy they are otherwise.
    4. Banning all tobacco products.
    5. Other ridiculous bans, like on trans fats and certain foods.
    6. High taxes, probably with a surtax on people who are heavy or have some chronic health issue.
    7. A really dissatisfied populace.
    8. People around the world complaining because they no longer have anywhere to go for world-class health care.
    9. Less innovation, fewer new medications, less incentives to develop new surgical techniques.

    10. And then some idiot will decide to apply the principles of health care to dental care. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Just so, Guns. The problem started long ago, and comes from both parties.
