“Organic” foods. Best food scam since the invention of “fat free”.

  2. JeffS says:

I’ll bet the base seed stock for that “organic” corn is genetically manipulated.

What about the arugula. Can’t eat my waffles in peace until I know about the arugula.

Sac Valley, around Davis: 5 for a buck. Or better.

  5. aelfheld says:

How much of that price is courtesy of it being ‘organic’ (not that I’ve ever heard of ‘inorganic’ corn)?

  6. tree hugging sister says:

Usually the “organic” prices here aren’t too outrageous compared to either our farmers’ market or the grocery store. It’s worth the premium. But, if you’ll take a trip down memory lane, this price isn’t really surprising if a single ear/no organic premium at the supposedly bargain basement COMMISSARY two weeks ago was fortyfour cents.

  7. Donna D. says:

Yup, you are paying for the word organic. Bought 3 ears at a Jersey Farmer’s Market for 56 cents an ear – white Jersey corn and I don’t care if it’s organic or not. Sad part – I remember when it used to be back in the “old days” $1.99/dozen, sigh…

But FIFTY SIX CENTS AN EAR!!!! In teh dead of SUMMER!?! That’s outrageous!!

Thank YOU, ethanol and Obama Administration Summer of Wreckovery, Part D’Oh!
