…making the employees nasty.

Although I will say, there’s a thriving black market in PHONEY blue “service vests” so people can drag FiFi into the store, instead of leaving the mutt home where it belongs.

    Starbuck’s may be marketing geniuses (charging outrageous prices for what they call a Frappucino and the rest of the world calls a milkshake), but they have a major weakness, and it’s quality control of their franchisees. I’ve been to SB’s that allow kids to stand on the food counter, who have “no smoking” sign on the patio and yet the employees smoke out there, and locations where the workers make the Soup Nazi look like Maria Von Trapp. But this incident takes the coffeecake. I bet that employee is (forgive me) in the doghouse now…

    Seems to me that the amount of attention this story is getting is way over the top. A stupid employee makes a bad decision and the corp. office immediately apologizes. I heard the dog guy on tv this morning and he was complaining that his coffee and breakfast wasn’t comped. Every retailer in the country has an employee somewhere that is going to do/say something stupid. I’m pretty sure that Starbucks does care about the behavior of their employees and franchisees, but they’ve become an easy and favorite target for ridicule, for whatever reason.
