So President Barack Over and Kiss It

…seems to have legitimized and empowered yet another delightful group of Islamic assholes with his constant groveling.

Taliban demands Afghan trial for alleged shooter

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) — A Taliban commander expressed skepticism that one soldier carried out a massacre last week that left 16 Afghan civilians dead, and anger that the suspect subsequently was flown out of Afghanistan.

“We don’t think that one American was involved,” the Taliban official told CNN, refusing to give his name or be otherwise identified. “The foreigners and the puppet regime (in Afghanistan) are blind to the truth of what happened here.

“But if this was the act of one soldier, we want this soldier to be prosecuted in Afghanistan, and according to Islamic law. The Afghans should prosecute him.”

The commander also explained that the Islamic fundamentalist group had halted talks with U.S. officials. It had set up an office in Qatar on January 3 to reach “an understanding with the international community” and discuss specific issues with American officials.

What do they mean, they’ve “set up an office in Qatar”?!?!!? What are they ~ Planned Parenthood? Acorn?

Weren’t we just trying to wipe these guys out right before 2008?

Frick. I’m confused.

Bueller? Bueller?

It wouldn’t surprise me if our pretender-in-Chief entertained the notion of a compromise with the enemy.

  2. Yojimbo says:

They have established an office in Qatar. What’s more, we were supposed to send five hardcore terrorists from Club Gitmo Sur Mer to Qatar as a goodwill gesture so that talks could commence.

That was, or is, the process.

  3. Skyler says:

I’m more surprised that they’ve “halted” talks. When did they start talks? What in the world are we doing talking to the Taliban?

It’s all Bush’s fault. Seriously. He didn’t properly identify who the enemy is and now we’ve transformed the war somehow into bringing prosperity to Afghanistan and the Taliban. It was supposed to be to punish them and stop them from attacking us again.

  4. Yojimbo says:

IIRC< and that requires a tremendous leap of faith all by its lonesome, we only really identified al Qaeda as the enemy. We were trying to, at best, bring the Taliban back into the fold.

  5. JeffS says:

At one time, Yojimbo, yes, we were. There was even talk about there being “moderate” Taliban.

Except that the Taliban identify with Al Qaeda. Closely.

    None of the above.
    They’re a travel agency.

Yojimbo, the Taliban’s refusal to expel / extradite those responsible for the 9/11 attacks put them in the same boat.

Besides, Mullah Omar and Osama bin Laden (Piss be upon him) were in-laws.
