I say to you, I certainly get annoyed whilst other folks consider issues that they just don’t know about. That IS a good one. It almost makes sense. Almost…
It probably DID make sense in the original language (though from my too-long experience with sites like Babelfish, I think it was probably a back-handed compliment).
I used to make part of a living translating babelfish – and like translations – into readable English. Involved getting the original language, using babelfish – and others, reading them all, asking the original writer (in pidgins – both theirs and ours) and going from there. Actually, yes, it was fun. I have an odd idea of fun, but, really…it was.
The stuff that shows up int he spam filter is amazing, really. And I just don’t understand the point of it.
I guess all they need is one curious fool to click on the links.
Problem is, it’s not just one. There’s thousands. And maybe hundreds of thousands.
Including (both) my parents – and my father has NOT got Alzheimer’s and thusly has no excuse.
I’ve rescued them both from “too good to be true” scams – and EVERY time, I had to convince them to call the FBI and ask. (You’d think they’d trust their own daughter – but NO.)
Watch your parents, if you have them still; they grew up in a far more trusting world – and they are being targeted for it now.
And not every senior has a “caregiver” who has waaaaaaaaaay too much experience with scammers. 🙁
