We Heard It Was Awful, Thanks to Twitter Exploding
Having now seen THIS tweet…
I found the arrangement of the national anthem that was used for the 2014 rose bowl: pic.twitter.com/EJs9JSjROW

…I am wondering if I should subject myself to the video at all.
ths update: And here ya go, if you were lucky enough to have missed it…
Ha! So true, sadly…
OMG From the smiles on the faces of some of the cheerleaders and ballplayers, I think I am not the only one who laughed out loud. Better than crying!
Sounds like they sunk below the level of Roseanne Barr’s “arrangement”.
And that takes some serious digging to accomplish.
Sorry, I meant for THIS link….
What is really amazing, if not for sporting events, when would we ever hear the national anthem???
Surely, the government doesn’t care. Please, don’t call me Shirley.
Ive heard worse. That song has become so butchered that I don’t even care anymore. It’s never been a particularly good song. I prefer a band arrangement to anyone actually singing the words, but then I’m a misanthrope.
THIS is how to sing the National Anthem.
“Professional” singers and producers, please take note.
Not the worst I’ve heard by a long shot.
The melisma becomes tedious quickly though.
Nah, JeffS, that’s not it either. Too many flourishes.
What, Skyler, now you care?
They had a drunk guy at a Nascar race some years ago. He kept getting lost and forgetting the words.
It was pretty bad.
Surprisingly one of the best I ever heard was at a Nascar race also. It was 8 or 10 of the American Idol finalists and it was essentially perfect.
