We’ll Show Those Brits How…

…We handle snow here in the Colonies

There is a good chance that a major storm will hit areas from the Midwest to the Northeast this weekend adding to a snow cover that will cover 50 percent of the country by Christmas Day.

AccuWeather.com meteorologists are predicting a storm will move from the northern Plains into the Ohio Valley, then redevelop off the mid-Atlantic coast. On that path, the storm will produce a swath of plowable snow from the Dakotas through the Midwest and Great Lakes and into the Northeast.

The storm has the potential to explode into a major snowstorm that could produce in excess of 6 inches of snow over a large area of the Northeast U.S. and eastern Canada.

I bought a snowblower this year specifically as insurance against just such an event.

Even more fun will be the Arctic air mass that’ll be right behind that Alberta clipper. Have the long johns handy for early next week, Mr. B.

This might make you feel warm. Christmas breaks out at the Mall.

I anticipate posts on cooking for cold weather, hopefully involving dog pics!

  5. Kate P says:

Do you have to haul out the snowblower in anticipation to ward off the evil snow? Or is just buying one enough?

  6. Mr. Bingley says:

Given my track record, Kate, I assumed that the act of me buying one would be sufficient to guarantee a snow-free winter on the East Coast.

  7. Gary from Jersey says:

Snow contains carbon dioxide. Snowblowers create it. Which is supposed to warm the planet so we don’t get snow. Just sayin’.

  8. major dad says:

Snow blower? What, you didn’t want to risk a heart attack by shoveling snow? Where’s your sense of adventure?

  9. Mr. Bingley says:

I risk a lot more than that by the fact that the snow usually hits when I’m in Brazil; it broke my heart every time I’d call from the beach and my Bride was out shoveling.

Meh…reminds her of good times I bet. She probably can’t get enough given what passes for winter out there. 🙂
