Since the Federal Gubmint is all shut down and such, does this mean I can murder protected migratory birds with wanton impunity?

This is, of course, purely a rhetorical exercise.

No Yellow Bellied Sapsuckers have been harmed in the production of this post.

    I just noticed a couple of holes in my shingles on a side of the house I don’t regularly see…. My first thought was that if wood peckers are going at it, there must be bugs behind there… Might be time to get .22 cal shot shells for the little Ruger….
