Always HATED Jimmy Carter?

Then here’s more fuel for THAT fire.

What a miserable, bilious prick.

    Being pretty nice there THS.

  2. Kathy Kinsley says:

Never hated him, just thought he was useless as a President.

There was ONE thing he did when Gov. of Georgia that got my respect – there were some small towns that decided to become speed traps…on some of the back roads between SC and FL (and I went between NC and FL a lot back then).
They hid their speed limit signs behind trees, etc. and then hit the out-of-staters. JC had billboards put up warning us. Oh yes he did. And those small towns were MOST unhappy.

May be the only good thing he ever did for the “little people” – but he earns a point for that one, IMO.

NO one is totally evil or totally good. Not even Jimmeh.

That is a classic description of someone who was out of his league. I’ve seen this before — people in a job that they know little or nothing about. They grab what they know, or what they THINK they know, and set about to prove themselves to others.

    And it fails, every time.

But I don’t need this to hate him more. There’s plenty of other reasons to loath that goober.

  4. Kathy Kinsley says:

@ JeffS. Indeed. And they have nothing to do with his political career. Only his private political views. (See anti-semite, for instance.) That MIGHT have had something to do with the Iran debacle back when – but I really don’t think so. Iran wasn’t screaming “KILL THE JEWS” in those days. They weren’t the enemy. We were. He was just being disgustingly stupid. (As he has been since.) Peter Principle – he managed as Gov. barely (ask the people in Georgia). Any higher? No. shouldn’t have happened.

I’ve read that Nixon-particularly while in Congress-
    would help Busboys clear tables,
and go in the kitchen to thank workers in restaurants for their
service. That’s the true test of humanity.I know, I worked as a busboy and dishwasher.
You deal with so many pricks-usually rich people.

  6. Mr. Bingley says:

The rich do it because they know/feel they can get away with it.

The Prick Percentage is not any lower amongst the general population, Greg.

  7. Skyler says:

Kathy, I appreciate your story, but I suspect that he did that because he was getting stopped too often himself. I won’t give him the benefit of the doubt on anything.

Anyone who tries to kill a dog with a bow saw for eating cat food is an ass. He killed a neighbor’s cat, too, for raiding the bird feeder.

Someone who kills others’ pets for petty reasons is evil and has a psyche that should never be in a leadership position.

  8. ricki says:

Seems to me we need to start thinking about much stricter background checks on folks running for office….

  9. tree hugging sister says:

Bang! Ditto what Skyler and ricki said.

  10. Syd B. says:

Thanks, I didn’t think there were any more reasons to dislike Carter but you proved me wrong. It looks like an interesting book.

  11. tree hugging sister says:

    I live to serve.

  12. Syd B. says:

    “I live to serve”

Four words I’ll never hear my wife utter.
