Sometimes the simplest things can baffle them. And feel REALLY good to the peasants who engineered the come-uppance.

Hill staffers must buy health insurance – and they’re not happy about it

WASHINGTON — As President Obama barnstorms the country promoting his health care law, one audience very close to home is growing increasingly anxious about the financial implications of the new coverage: members of Congress and their personal staffs.

Under a wrinkle that dates back to enactment of the law, members of Congress and thousands of their aides are required to get their coverage through new state-based markets known as insurance exchanges.

Chattanooga THRILLED to See His Imperial Highness on His Royal Whistle Stop Tour Today

…judging by the welcoming township editorial page

Take your jobs plan and shove it, Mr. President: Your policies have harmed Chattanooga enough

President Obama,

Welcome to Chattanooga, one of hundreds of cities throughout this great nation struggling to succeed in spite of your foolish policies that limit job creation, stifle economic growth and suffocate the entrepreneurial spirit.

Forgive us if you are not greeted with the same level of Southern hospitality that our area usually bestows on its distinguished guests. You see, we understand you are in town to share your umpteenth different job creation plan during your time in office. If it works as well as your other job creation programs, then thanks, but no thanks. We’d prefer you keep it to yourself.

…Even though 64 percent of Chattanooga respondents said they would rather you hadn’t chosen to visit our fair city, according to a survey on the Times Free Press website, it’s probably good that you’re here.

It will give you an opportunity to see the failure of your most comprehensive jobs plan to date, the disastrous stimulus scheme, up close and personal.

As if he had the PRESENCE of mind to recognise one of his disasters and take accountability. **excuse me as I chortle** The man is preprogrammed to yell “BUSH” if he trips, for God’s sake.

They’re calling their stimulus boondoggle “The GIG to Nowhere”. And they’re cranky.

His Imperial Majesty, Unicornus The First

An exceedingly important post by Ace that should be, no, that must be, of great concern to every citizen. We are a nation of laws and procedures, not personal whim.

Obama: I Didn’t Bother Asking a Lawyer If I Could Unilaterally Suspend the Law;
All I’ve Done Is Merely Seize Plenary Power on Behalf of the People

If it sounds chilling, it ought to.

This is how democracies die — or rather, this demarcates the end of democracy.

Read the whole thing. This is not about Left or Right. We can and should and must have policy differences and discussions and arguments.

But we can not have an unchecked “leadership” ruling by caprice.

Don’t Count Weiner Out Yet!

He’s picked up the coveted Marion Barry Endorsement

Former Washington, D.C. Mayor Marion Barry said Anthony Weiner is a “good Democrat” who should be talking more about his accomplishments in Congress.

In an interview Saturday night on Geraldo Rivera’s show on Fox News, Barry said, “One bit of advice to the congressman: I’d stop talking so much about now and start talking about what you did for seven terms while he was in the Congress. He’s a good Democrat.”

The Things They’ll Do To Live Up To Their Name

Colonel Bud Day Has Died

Medal of Honor Winner and our Panhandle’s own.

MIAMI (AP) – Retired Col. George “Bud” Day, a Medal of Honor recipient who spent 5½ years as a POW in Vietnam and was Arizona Sen. John McCain’s cellmate, has died at the age of 88, his widow said Sunday.

Day, one of the nation’s most highly decorated servicemen since Gen. Douglas MacArthur and later a tireless advocate for veterans’ rights, died Saturday surrounded by family at his home in Shalimar, after a long illness, Doris Day said.

…He was an enlisted Marine serving in the Pacific during World War II and an Air Force pilot in the Korean and Vietnam wars.

In Vietnam, he was McCain’s cellmate at one camp known as the Plantation and later in the infamous Hanoi Hilton, where he was often the highest-ranking captive. During his imprisonment, the once-muscular, 5-foot-9 Day was hung by his arms for days, tearing them from their sockets. He was freed in 1973 – a skeletal figure of the once dashing fighter pilot. His hands and arms never functioned properly again.

My memories of him are ALL Veterans For McCain campaign related, which is where I was privileged to have met and worked with him. I wrote about his effect on the crowd here, in my report on the banner day Sarah Palin came to Pensacuda

He was one helluvan opening act.

What magnificent American we’ve lost.

As awful as it sounds, no one could say we did not do well. (Being a POW) was a major issue in my life and one that I am extremely proud of. I was just living day to day,” he said in a 2008 interview with The Associated Press. “One really bad cold and I would have been dead.

What a MAN.

…isn’t it?

…Peg Brunda asked the question Weiner definitely did not want to hear.

I don’t quite understand how you would feel you would have the moral authority as the head administrator in the city to oversee employees when your standard of conduct is so much lower than the standard of conduct that’s expected of me,” the retired teacher said.

How the lowest schmuckatellies on the totem pole have a THOUSAND things that can trip them up ~ RUIN their lives in some instances ~ and make them “unworthy”, but these PRIVILEGED DOUCHEBAGS can just say “Sorry you were offended by these acts I committed. I am still a class above YOU.” And carry the f*ck on.

I Can’t Believe It’s Been Thirty Years…

…since the “Pine Tar” game.

The best comment is from the man at the center of this, George Brett

Prior to the Pine Tar Game, July 24, 1983, and after the World Series in 1980, every city I went to I was the hemorrhoid guy. I heard every hemorrhoid joke in the world. My best response is, ‘My troubles are all behind me.’ But from October of 1980 to July 24, 1983, that’s what I heard. And from July 24 to 2013, now I’m the pine-tar guy, so it’s really the greatest thing that ever happened to me. Thank you, Billy Martin, thank you, Graig Nettles. I went from having an embarrassing thing that people remembered you for to something positive.

In Any Other Lifetime, THIS Would Have Been Filed Under “A-HA!”

Now you just want these particular pukes to suck a stone, even though their whining works to your ends.

IRS employee union: We don’t want Obamacare

IRS employees have a prominent role in Obamacare, but their union wants no part of the law.

National Taxpayer Employee Union officials are urging members to write their congressional representatives in opposition to receiving coverage through President Obama’s health care law.

The union leaders are providing members with a form letter to send to the congressmen that says “I am very concerned about legislation that has been introduced by Congressman Dave Camp to push federal employees out of the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program and into the insurance exchanges established under the Affordable Care Act.”

The NTEU represents 150,000 federal employees overall, including most of the nearly 100,000 IRS workers.

“Take That Back IMMEDIATELY!”

The bothersome stuff you have to correct when you’re a major news organization.

Morning corrections: Irish president not gay, Kentucky exists

• Michael D. Higgins is not an “acknowledged homosexual”: Forbes published those words about the president of Ireland Wednesday, and they “would have come as something of a shock for Mr Higgins, who has been happily married to his actress wife Sabina since 1974,” Andrew McCorkell writes in the Independent

• Kentucky also lies to the west of Virginia: “A map with an article on Tuesday about the discovery of a 16th-century fort last month near Morganton, N.C., labeled incorrectly a state that borders Virginia to the west,” a correction in The New York Times Thursday reads.

It is Kentucky, not West Virginia.

“Professionals” much?

I Have No Sympathy For This Woman

Charlotte’s revulsion over Huma Abedin’s calculated “stand by your man” routine is surely right. Still, it is amazing, as we speculate about Ms. Abedin’s political future, that the elephant in the room goes unnoticed, or at least studiously unmentioned.

Sorry to interrupt the Best Enabler of a Sociopath Award ceremony but, to recap, Ms. Abedin worked for many years at a journal that promotes Islamic-supremacist ideology that was founded by a top al-Qaeda financier, Abdullah Omar Naseef. Naseef ran the Rabita Trust, a formally designated foreign terrorist organization under American law. Ms. Abedin and Naseef overlapped at the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs (JMMA) for at least seven years. Throughout that time (1996–2003), Ms. Abdein worked for Hillary Clinton in various capacities.

Read the whole thing. Really, really read it.

And let no one forget it when she runs for office in a few years with the MSM in her pocket.

There’s Nothing Like A Good Bankruptcy To Focus The Detroit City Council’s Laser-Like Priorities…

…on what really matters

The Detroit City Council on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution calling for a federal investigation to see whether civil rights charges are warranted against George Zimmerman, who was acquitted July 13 of second-degree murder and manslaughter charges in the killing of Florida teen Trayvon Martin.

But hey, when you’ve racked up $18 billion in debt you need to yell “SQUIRREL!!!” every chance you get.

And kudos must be given to this obviously racist rethuglican for these words:

“We need to have that same level of outrage with respect to the black-on-black crime that takes place in our community,” Councilman Kenneth Cockrel Jr. said. “How many people were shot — maybe even shot and killed this past weekend in the city — mostly likely by folks who look just like them?”

What a H8tr.
