57 Years Ago Today

The Andrea Doria collided with the Stockholm and 52 people died. The Andrea Doria sank 11 hours later; amazingly the Stockholm is still in service.

   Wow, I’d heard about it but never read the article before. “Both Paul and Margaret survived the sinking, and for years after the disaster, Paul was haunted by the memory of his four-year-old nephew Rocco, the youngest of his brother’s children, who just prior to the collision had asked if he could spend the night with his uncle.” How tragic.
