Zarqawi’s Dead
Although I’m not sure at this point it matters as much as had it happened a year ago, I still think it’s great news.
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) — Terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the most wanted man in Iraq, was killed in a coalition airstrike near Baquba, jubilant U.S. and Iraqi authorities announced Thursday.
And you know, for once I find myself agreeing with al-Qaeda:
“We want to give you the joyous news of the martyrdom of the mujahed sheik Abu Musab al-Zarqawi,” said the statement, signed by “Abu Abdel- Rahman al-Iraqi,” identified as the deputy “emir” or leader of al- Qaida in Iraq.
Yep, pretty joyous indeed.
Realistically, it seems are so fractured there that I’m not sure how much influence he really had, but taking him out is a good thing.
A great thing.

Oh, HAPPY day! I’ll drink to that! We just got moving around here, I got the ‘puter fired up after making coffee and there was a lovely email from John with a very uncharacteristic “woo hooo!” subject line. “Hmmm”, I thought. “Must be good news.” It was. Woo HOOO!! Thank you, John.

If Abdel-Rahman thinks it’s so joyous, he can volunteer next. My tax dollars at work!
My wish right now is that they don’t bury him within the Koran’s proscribed time line. F*ck him. I’d leave the body in the street for the dogs. And, if there are 72 virgins waiting somewhere, may their nether regions hold razor blades.

I’ll be whistling and singing all day. That bastard was operating in my area while overseas and he was behind the killing of more than 50 of my battalion. I am SO happy today!
