Dominique Strauss-Kahn (who is a man) just got a chunk of francs back

Prosecutors agreed to release former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn on his own recognizance, two people familiar with the matter said.

Strauss-Kahn, accused of a sexual attack on a hotel maid in New York, will have his bail returned and would still be subject to travel restrictions while he faces charges, said the people, who didn’t want to be identified because they aren’t authorized to speak on the matter.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office plans to tell a New York state court judge today that its investigation raised doubts about the victim’s credibility, said a third person familiar with the matter.

It seems there might be some “issues” with the lady’s credibility

According to the two officials, the woman had a phone conversation with an incarcerated man within a day of her encounter with Mr. Strauss-Kahn in which she discussed the possible benefits of pursuing the charges against him. The conversation was recorded.

That man, the investigators learned, had been arrested on charges of possessing 400 pounds of marijuana. He is among a number of individuals who made multiple cash deposits, totaling around $100,000, into the woman’s bank account over the last two years. The deposits were made in Arizona, Georgia, New York and Pennsylvania.

The investigators also learned that she was paying hundreds of dollars every month in phone charges to five companies. The woman had insisted she had only one phone and said she knew nothing about the deposits except that they were made by a man she described as her fiancé and his friends.

Of course, the possible fact that he didn’t rape her but simply made it with the maid is a boost to his French political career

“Those who know Dominique Strauss-Kahn will not be surprised by this evolution of events,” one of Strauss-Kahn’s French lawyers and a friend for 40 years, Leon Lef Forster, told The Associated Press. “What he was accused of has no relation to his personality. It was something that was not credible.”

What he did, of course, is evidently completely related to his personality.

He’s just the fellow to carry the banner for the Socialists.

Where do European public officials find these smiling wives? One of our scumbag Senators, David Vitter, is lucky there was no baseball bat nearby when he did his “I have sinned” routine. His wife was discernibly hostile.

Was it Cheney who said that “I’ll never cheat on my wife because I know the last sound I’ll hear will be Lynne standing over me saying ‘Now how do I reload this thing?'”

  3. Rob says:

I know I’ll never hear that, Mr B. My wife knows how to reload. 🙂

Either the maid or the Frenchman, one of them had better end up in prison. As long as it’s the guilty one I really don’t care which one it is.

Mr Bingley, can I use that?
Ok, don’t bother – the Child Bride is Maori – she’ll use a club.

Ah, it wasn’t Dick Cheney who said that it was Dick Armey

Olasky: In 1998 during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, a reporter asked you what you would do if you were in President Clinton’s position. You’re said to have replied, “I would not have gotten a chance to resign. I would be lying in a pool of my own blood with Mrs. Armey standing over me saying, how do I reload this thing?” True?

Armey: True. By the way, she outshoots me with a handgun and knows how to reload it.

I want to know where the feminist are? If she was raped what does it matter that she is a liar? Still raped. Somehow I don’t think she suddenly wanted to have sex with this POS.
