“As I Write These Words, the Enemy Is Plainly In Sight Across the River”

“…But, dear God, what brave men I shall lose before this business ends.”

Such bravery as brings tears to my eyes at the very thought every time ~ those on the field with General Washington and the men in that boiling Philadelphia room.
