Fox Hosts GOP Rep. Blackburn To Continue Absurd Attack On Energy Efficient Light Bulbs

Well, shoot. Here’s the Fox piece they’re poopooing:

Energy “efficient” bulbs are being attacked, as is our freedom to “waste our money” as we see fit.

Absurd” doesn’t begin to cover it.

But that’s a pretty great start…

actually, these NON-efficient bulbs are safer for the environment. Especially now that they are saying coal plants help cool the planet.

THS…the truth shall set you free!

  5. major dad says:

I hate CFLs… and don’t mind all that mercury stuff, just move along.

  6. nightfly says:

The thing is, nobody is saying ban the CFLs, are they? Just let us be able to pick between the two. The market will safely bury the CFL more easily than the EPA.

So no only is it not an absurd argument… it’s not even a true statement about that argument.

  7. major dad says:

Exactly fly, let the market dictate. CFLs will either make it or go off into the place good intentions go to die.

  8. ricki says:

I would not be at all surprised if they found out in 15 years that CFLs caused depression, obesity, or some other “modern” problem.

I hate CFLs and it bugs me that I’m gonna be forced to buy them (Unless I’m willing to cough up the $25 a bulb or whatever LEDs are going for now)

  9. If America is as wily and versatile as I believe it is; surely there is, in the great United States a similar organisation to that which I featured a link to in a recent post on my own blog?

  10. Kate P says:

Yeah, “good” for the environment, but not safe enough to let your kid change them or dispose of in the trash. Honestly, could they use their bans for good not evil?

Oddly enough, last week I noticed the Whole Foods near me sells the full-spectrum incandescents I love. I should buy the whole shelf.
