That’s a good read. I don’t need (or want) a Mosin-Nagant, but the article was well written, and I can see the appeal of one as a cheap SHTF weapon.
I thought that ten year old kid was going to land on his tuckus! Tough little guy.
I was shooting the .375 H&H Magnum, with a heavyload, when I wasn’t much older than he was. You’d be surprised what little kids can do.
The thing about the Mosins is that they are so dang heavy that they really don’t kick as much as they should.
And the ball of flame that comes out the business end is worth the investment alone.
Well, if you ever do get into a scrum, and are using a Mosin, be sure to get into a really good covered position. ‘Cuz, sure as taxes, your opponents will locate you instantly from the muzzle flash. Especially at night.
Although firing a Mosin might take only one round to scare off hostiles.
The 18″ of bayonet is a bother to conceal, as well.
True, but the bayonet is so…….handy.
The bayonet would be handy for beheading the zombies
I have one of those. The bayonet is more the stabby kind, not the slashy kind. Good for stabbing the zombie’s eyes out, but not so much for chopping his head off.
Of course, with the length of the rifle plus the length of the bayonet you can be in the next county over when you stab his eyes out.
