As the Death Penalty Drums Beat and the Rush to Hang SSgt Robert Bales*

…for the murders of 16 Afghan civilians continues apace, my astute hubby points out a murderer whose numbers add up to practically the same total, but one never hears a peep about him anymore:

Major Nidal Malik Hasan

Wonder why?

Now, don’t forget: he supposedly has PTSD, too ~ from treating PTSD sufferers, since he never once deployed to a combat zone. (I hadn’t realized a disorder could be contagious.)

Have heard nary a peep, him and his “Allah Ackbar” slaughter of fellow, DISARMED soldiers.

Maybe it’s time someone asked about him again.

*Thanks aelf

  1. JeffS says:

How about we give them Major Hasan, and they can take care of him. Last I heard, he’s crippled, so the Taliban can provide the wheelchair ramps.

    Bales, not Blades.

  3. Skyler says:

I’m not comfortable with using SSgt Bales as a role model.

  4. Ebola says:

You forget, that wasn’t a terrorist action! That was “work place violence”…gotta love this administration.

  5. JeffS says:

The problem is that the Lame Stream Media thinks that SSG Bales is a role model, Skyler.

  6. tree hugging sister says:

And I’m using him as a “role model” where, Skyler? And a role model for what, pray tell? You confuse me.

What he stands accused of doing is as vile and inhuman a thing as any crime could. But I will also afford him the benefit of evidence and a trial.

What we here in casa de major dad find curious are the repeated mentions of “death penalty” in ANY and ALL discussions of possible punishments as far as guilty verdicts for his alleged crimes. They hammer on it.

I don’t remember that sort of retributional emphasis ever in Nidal’s case. Because why?

Frankly I think they should dance the “Danny Deaver” side by side.
