So major dad Was a Sport Yesterday, Standing in Line at a Book Signing for HOURS

It was all good and totally red, white and blue!

Hundreds of folks showed up in spite of the biblical weather. We were numbers 84 and 85 in line and ~ WHEW! ~ thankful to be so when they started stretching through the bookstacks behind…around…and into the music section behind us! Go, Pensacola!!!

One of the great surprises and TRUE delights of the day besides seeing my Senator again? Reconnecting with someone I absolutely came to adore working with during the campaign ~ Luke Marchant. He’d been Marco’s Political Director and now runs his own political consulting firm out of Austin, Texas. Seems he’d been asked back to help with the Florida leg of the book tour and LUCKY DANG ME! (We had a fantastic evening out with him after the event.)

Handsome honey maintains his dignity as always…

…but you just can’t keep some damn groupies from clawing and scratching their way on the tour bus, you know?

They need better security around a fellow who really IS a national treasure.

Happy Fourth of July!

That’s awesome. Those are great photos!

  2. JeffS says:

What, you left those vicious Scotties at home? They would make an excellent PSD, and for a low price at that.

  3. Fausta says:

    Excellent!
    And that halo is perfect!

  4. Kathy Kinsley says:

What Kate said – love that halo – but is it over your head or his?

I hate to say this, because I think he’d make a good POTUS if anything happened. But, please Romney, we need him HERE. We don’t need him on a campaign trail.

  5. Kathy Kinsley says:

erm – what Fausta said – not Kate.

  6. Ave says:

    What fun and great photos!

  7. Gary from Jersey says:

Great. Remind us up here we have Pallone and Menendez.

  8. tree hugging sister says:

Actually, Gary, part of the conversation with Luke was explaining we’d have to put off his handling Bingley’s campaign to unseat Menendez for the next term thanks to a little bout of college tuition payments interfering…

So it’s basically Bingley’s fault you’ll still be stuck. I line up THE guy a year ago ~ he whiffs. Yup.

  9. tree hugging sister says:

Bwahaha ~ halo! That’s the teleporter I beamed in through.
