AARP bashes Obama for using it to promote himself in debate

DENVER – The AARP ripped President Barack Obama for using the organization’s name to support himself politically during Wednesday evening’s presidential debate.

“While we respect the rights of each campaign to make its case to voters, AARP has never consented to the use of its name by any candidate or political campaign,” AARP vice president John Hishta said in a statement immediately after the debate. “AARP is a nonpartisan organization, and we do not endorse political candidates nor coordinate with any candidate or political party.”

Hilarious, because I snorted about AARP’s moral authority in a text to Bingster the second he did it.

They don’t need ANYBODY reminding those gullible seniors ~ who are just starting to come back and buying insurance products that keep them afloat ~ that they SOLD THEIR SOULS TO THIS DOUCHEBAG FOR AN OBAMACARE ENDORSEMENT.

So of course, they’re discommoded.

Personally, I think everyone should be reminded at every possible opportunity, or at least AARP medicare supplement commercial.

I have no intention of joining the AARP, and I tell people that. And why. It would be like joining the Community Party.

  2. JeffS says:

Urgh! It ain’t my day….the COMMUNIST Party.

Although the way they support community organizers, there’s a certain validity to “Community Party”.

  3. Fausta says:

As one of the guys in the PowerLine chat said last night, “let it be written on my tombstone, ‘He never joined the AARP’.”

  4. Gary from Jersey says:

Same AARP that helped write Obamacare got a waiver from it. Yet they still think they can make a killing off it. I toss their mail every time.

  5. missred says:

I quit my AARP membership the minute they started supporting Obamacare. I think I was a member for all of two years. What truly irks me is the money they waste sending me mail every two days.

  6. Kate P says:

Well, now that makes me wonder who WASN’T yelling at the TV when he was speaking. I’m sure the military was in the beginning, then you had the AARP people. . .

  7. Skyler says:

Oh, they’re not really upset about the sentiment, just about potentially losing their status as an exempt organization.

  8. Michael Lonie says:

The rats are starting to leave the sinking ship.

AARP is a nonpartisan organization […]

Pull the other one, it’s got bells on.
