To paraphrase Victor Gold, I didn’t vote for George Bush because I expected or wanted him to act like Bill Clinton.

  2. Which, I would have to say, he hasn’t. Kinda my point. Those were pardons. I think this commutation is completely reasonable. He’s still a felon, still paying for his ‘crime’, where there never was a ‘CRIME’ determined to have been committed. But a couple years in jail? When Sandy Berger and God knows who else COMMITS crimes ~ against the nation, even! ~ and get a pee-pee whack instead? Nope.

  3. Tainted Bill says:

Libby did commit four crimes, including the same one Clinton was impeached for. It really doesn’t matter whether he was guilty of the underlying crime that caused the investigation, he still acted in an illegal fashion.
I also think that it’s appalling that Sandy Berger wasn’t prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Who’s to blame for that? If you ask me, I blame the Attorney General and the guy who appointed him, people who obviously didn’t think it was much of a priority.
In a perfect world, Libby and Berger should be sharing the same cell, Berger for a few years longer than Libby.

  4. Just recently I read an op-ed by some liberal complaining about how mean, nasty Mr. Bush didn’t pardon enough people.

  5. Bruce says:

Libby, Berger and CLINTON should be sharing a jail cell.

  6. Tainted Bill says:

    Ken,
Yeah, it’s good to be a friend of the President.
