Vainity Claims Another Victim
I’m sorry, I simply do not understand this. Did she have a birth defect? No. Was she horribly disfigured in an accident? No.
She didn’t like her ass.
And now she’s dead
Buenos Aires, Argentina (CNN) — A former Miss Argentina died Sunday after complications arising from plastic surgery, the official Telam news agency said.
Solange Magnano, 37, died in a hospital after being transferred from a clinic where she underwent an elective surgery on her buttocks on Wednesday, the agency reported.
Magnano ran her own modeling agency in Argentina, and had been a model and Miss Argentina in 1994. She also was the mother of 7-year-old twins.
I admit that I am a male, and as such the fount of all this patriarchal pressure on women to butcher their bodies into shapes that I (via my minions in Hollywood and Madison Avenue) decree as Desirous (even though of course I do no such thing consciously; via the Super Evil Penile Powers that all Men possess these unavoidable commands begin to emanate from our minds when we start breathing); I know this is all my fault.
But I just don’t get it. Not at all. You see all these women on TV who have had all this expensive plastic surgery done and they look like crap, far worse than if they had done nothing. And I’m not even talking about the Jocelyn Wildenstein-type epic disasters; look at what Greta van Susteren did to her eyes. Or even worse, we had to watch Meredith Vieira during the Thanksgiving Day Parade this year; her face is so Botoxed she looked like the Joker…
I hate fake boobs. I hate face lifts and tummy tucks.
Can’t we all just grow old together naturally and spend the money we save on good food and wine?

No, it’s not MEN doing this to women. It’s other WOMEN. That’s the ugly little secret.
All of the really awful snarky things I have heard – or had repeated second-hand – about how I look, have come at the hands of other women. Men either don’t care, don’t have as impossibly exacting standards, or are too gentlemanly to say anything.
I agree on the “let’s just grow old naturally.”
Speaking as a breast man….once face to face with a breast of any size, shape or whatever….men becoming giggling school boys…so no, it doesnt matter in the end.
C’mon, Ricki, you have to know the evil racist (if that isn’t redundant) white male patriarchy beams thoughts into women’s heads about this stuff. It’s how we entertain ourselves when there’s no football on TV.
Or maybe it’s because we own all the stock in plastic surgery devices…
Which reminds me. I used to date a woman with fake boobs. They were big and hard enough to crack sheetrock. She had ’em removed then bought a whole new wardrobe, which is a whole other evil male story.
The thing about plastic surgery (outside of reconstructive surgery) is that it never looks right. No matter how it’s done there is always something that doesn’t get “fixed”and either stands out or makes the “fixed” area stand out. Therefore everything looks off.
If I thought they could fix something without it being either dangerous or looking fake, I might consider fixing one or 2 things that bug me. But it would be because they bug me, not because of how it looks to someone else. heh.
