Sour Apple
Look, I’m as big an Apple Fan Boy as there is; we’ve had only Macs in the house since 1988, for gosh’ sakes.
But an extra $30 for the friggin’ power cord?
Get stuffed.
Update: Jim Barnes in the comments points out that my Mad Reading Skillz strike again, as this is for a second power cord. To err is Bingley.
When I had to pay an additional $12 for a kickstand to my new bicycle, I realized we live in a new world.
Coming soon: “Congratulations on your new Honda. Would you like the keys? Only $200”
The replacement cord for my wife’s HP laptop ran us $65, Bings. And that was the CHEAPEST we could find. The only bright side was that the Official Dog didn’t fry her shmoopy self when she chewed through the old one – it was plugged in. I think the sparking and smoking must have scared her, she doesn’t go anywhere near the cord now!
Apple is a hardware company. They make their money charging too much for hardware that could have been standard off-the shelf but isn’t because they designed it that way.
Ever own an old Compaq server? Same deal – proprietary city.
It’s not a friggin’ power cord, Bingster. It’s a friggin’ 10W USB Power Adapter.
That’s why it’s so expensive.
Maybe you missed what was…
“In the box
iPad
Dock Connector to USB Cable
***10W USB Power Adapter****
SIM eject tool
(Wi-Fi + 3G model only)
Documentation”
Yes, you have to pay an extra $29 for a SECOND power cord.
There’s gotta be an eBay store selling it (or a slightly used one) for less. . . maybe?
You’re a Mac bitch?
No wonder you can’t spell and don’t know what a shift key is.
Yeah, you could be right, Jim; when I read that at first I thought it was only something that could connect to a USB port on a computer, not into a wall outlet. My bad.
