Aw Poop
Sis, do you have any plywood-nailing-over-the-windows advice?
THIS STEERING PATTERN SHOULD PREVENT IRENE FROM MOVING WELL OFFSHORE OF THE NORTHEASTERN STATES. THE OFFICIAL TRACK FORECAST HAS BEEN SHIFTED VERY SLIGHTLY TO THE WEST OF THE PREVIOUS ONE AND IS ROUGHLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GUIDANCE ENVELOPE…WHICH IS BRACKETED BY THE U.K. MET. OFFICE MODEL ON THE EAST AND THE GFDL MODEL ON THE WEST.
So I’m looking at 105 mph sustained at this point on Sunday.
Yay.
My new California relatives arrived last night. I’ll have to make sure their rental car is returned before Irene hits otherwise they might get back in it and head back where they came from.
Well you certainly want the rental car returned so that any damage to it happens on the rental company’s dime!
Stock up on Spam and Vienna sausage, Mr. B. I believe that Major Dad can offer you suitable recipes.
Bing if you go the plywood route do not nail them in if you don’t have to. There are these metal clips you can buy that hold the boards in place that is of course if you have the boards cut to fit your windows.
Dear God, please be wrong. Amen.
And don’t use cheap chipboard plywood or bead board. The glue comes apart in the wind and rain.
That’s bad.
I definitely will look for the formaldehyde-impregnated good stuff.
I’m sure I’ll have to go the nail route, md. I highly doubt any place here will have the clips (not much call for it!) and getting it cut-to-fit really ain’t an option. I’m basically concerned with just covering the picture windows.
[…] So, we had flash-flooding on Sunday last, and an earthquake on Tuesday. What have we missed? Well, how about a freaking hurricane? […]
Whoa! This could be a real doozey. I think tomorrow I’ll do a major liquor store run. Need some good bourbon and some tequila.
Sounds like it will be a bit breezy in your area soon. I suggest skipping the kite flying. Stay safe!
So tell us mere mortals how much you squeezed out of Coke for the water product placement
