What’s the going rate on American hostages?

University of Virginia student detained by North Korea

North Korea said Friday that it had arrested a University of Virginia student for allegedly committing “anti-state” acts orchestrated by the U.S. government.

In language that mirrors past North Korean claims of outside conspiracies, state media claimed Otto Frederick Warmbier entered the North as a tourist with a plot to undermine unity among the North Koreans with “the tacit connivance of the U.S. government and under its manipulation.”

The report from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Warmbier was “arrested while perpetrating a hostile act,” but didn’t say when he was detained or explain the nature of the act.

“Hold Off”? “HOLD OFF”?!?!?!

Is EVERYBODY and anyONE an ACCEPTABLE CASUALTY to this administration as long as you’re NOT IN THEIR WAY?!?

That American servicemen would act in their own interest and abandon one of their own is DISGRACEFUL.

I hope she lit every jack one of them up royally when they got back to terra USA, and that she NEVER EVER lets the craven cowards off the hook.

I Know I’m Shocked

Would you believe that Cory Booker, who arguably didn’t even live in the city he was nominally Mayor of while he was gallivanting around the country prior to his anointment as Senator, would you believe that there was rampant corruption on his watch?

NEWARK – Newark officials said they were dismayed by the former head of the Newark Watershed Conservation Development Corporation’s guilty plea on corruption-related charges earlier this week – an outcome many felt could have been prevented.

Linda Watkins-Brashear, who presided over the non-profit agency until 2013 – just one year before it was dissolved amid widespread allegations of corruption and mismanagement – is facing up to 23 years in prison and $350,000 in fines for conspiracy and filing a false tax return.

She is the second person to plead guilty to charges related to the scandal, though many in the state’s largest city consider it a reflection of an agency run amok thanks to the wandering eye of now-U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, who was mayor over the entirety of Watkins’ tenure.

What’s so special about her tenure in Newark, you ask?

Other than that she got caught?

While Newark was laying off police officers and begging for state bailouts, one of its most important contractors was siphoning off millions of city dollars in illegal payments, sweetheart deals, and risky stock ventures right under the noses of city leaders, according to a report released today by the state comptroller’s office.

Until a judge appointed trustees to dissolve the agency last year, the Newark Watershed Conservation Development Corporation managed the city’s 35,000 acres of reservoirs and treated water for more than 500,000 customers in northern New Jersey.

Between 2008 and 2011, the state comptroller alleges that agency leaders and insiders absconded with millions of public dollars.

“This report documents an egregious and yet preventable abuse of public funds that was allowed to continue unfettered for years because of poor oversight,” said comptroller chief of staff Melissa Liebermann in a statement issued today with the 45-page report.

Acting State Comptroller Marc Larkins was recused from the matter. Much of the inquiry was headed by his predecessor, Matthew Boxer.

Linda Watkins-Brashear, the agency’s director and a political ally of former Newark mayor, now Sen. Cory Booker, wrote unreported checks to herself to the tune of $200,000, was awarded $700,000 in two severance packages, gave more than $1 million in contracts to her friends and ex-husband, and lost $500,000 in dubious stock ventures, the report states.

…Through her attorneys, Watkins-Brashear said the report wrongly laid blame at her feet and said she acted at all times with the knowledge and approval of then Mayor Cory Booker’s administration.

Yes, Booker’s a perfect fit for Washington.

And isn’t it funny how the Media ignores this.

“It’s Like This is a Bothersome Thing for Him…”

That’s the reaction of a San Bernardino resident to Obama’s Oval Office “terrorism” speech Sunday.

“…GWEN IFILL: The president did not announce a new strategy to defeat the Islamic State, but he did call for greater gun control measures. They would include not allowing people whose names appear on no-fly lists to buy firearms.

In San Bernardino, reactions at a makeshift memorial were lukewarm.

MAN: He has to walk a fine line, but it probably comes across as a little weak, but that is kind of Obama’s style.

WOMAN: It wasn’t strong enough.

It appears to me, every time that he talks on camera, that this is like a bothersome thing for him, that he really just does not want to have to deal with this.

She nailed it. He just can’t be bothered, so why can’t we all accept the collateral damage and leave him the hell alone.

Not ONLY does Huma (an impeccable source, mind you) assert Hillary is “OFTEN CONFUSED” (?!?!?!?), but that she TAKES NAPS.

I don’t know which alarms me more. I remember that nap-taking was an issue when Reagan ran. Should we not also question Herself, then?

Note to Self: Religion…

Campus stabber’s manifesto included ‘praise for Allah,’ plan for beheading

A handwritten manifesto carried by a California college student whose stabbing spree Wednesday left four wounded bore names of his targets, a vow “to cut someone’s head off” and as many as five reminders to “praise Allah,” law enforcement authorities told FoxNews.com, while insisting that neither terrorism nor religion appear to be motives in the attack.

Unlike Confederate flags and Sarah Palin, which have EVERYTHING to do with EVERYTHING.

Sex-Segregated Public Restrooms Are an Outdated Relic of Victorian Paternalism

“…Many states follow the guidelines laid out in the Uniform Plumbing Code, which stipulates that “separate toilet facilities shall be provided for each sex,” with exceptions for very small businesses as measured in square footage and/or customer traffic. In the eyes of the law in these places, a business with two unisex toilets can be considered to have no toilets at all, since neither facility explicitly serves men or women.

Such laws date back to 1887, according to Terry S. Kogan, a University of Utah law professor and a contributor to the book Toilet: Public Restrooms and the Politics of Sharing. One hundred and twenty-seven years ago, Massachusetts passed the first law mandating gender-segregated toilets, and many states quickly followed suit. Many of those laws have never been substantially modified, with obvious exceptions in progressive enclaves like D.C. and San Francisco, meaning that much of the United States’ toilet-related building codes reflect a literally Victorian prudishness that we might mock in other contexts…”

Where he makes his mistake is that me and my thugs have NO PROBLEM invading the men’s room when the ladies’ line becomes overwhelmingly long, or there’s only two single bathrooms. The thing is, we make sure THERE ARE NO MEN IN THE HEAD when we do it. It’s being polite, not Victorian. Also, I have no desire to share a toilet with a strange man (whatever SEX he’s claiming at the time), so add selfish to that list as well.

Obama’s Released 66,000 Illegal Immigrants

Well, SURE there’s gonna be a few bad apples, right?

“The released illegal immigrants had 166,000 convictions: 30k DUI, 414 kidnapping, 11,000 sex assaults, 395 homicides”

Sanity, yes Sanity in a courtroom

SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) –
A Bullitt County District Court Judge has dismissed all charges against a man who shot down a drone he said was flying over his property.

The court hearing for William Merideth began Monday afternoon. He shot down a drone in Hillview earlier this year.

Merideth said the operator was violating his privacy and spying on his family, but Hillview police arrested Merideth for firing his gun within city limits and charged him with wanton endangerment.

…During Monday’s hearing, Boggs testified that flight data showed the drone was flying higher than Meredith stated. But Judge Rebecca Ward says that since at least two witnesses could see the drone below the tree line, it was an invasion of privacy.

“He had a right to shoot at this drone, and I’m gonna dismiss this charge,” said Ward.

Judge Ward dismissed both charges against Merideth including criminal mischief and wanton endangerment.

I like the cut of that judge’s jib.

Ian Mercer, Oregon shooter’s dad: ‘That’s what guns are, the killers’

The father of Oregon gunman Christopher Harper-Mercer argued Saturday that his son never would have killed nine people last week at Umpqua Community College if he wasn’t able to get his hands on a gun in the first place.

“How on earth could he compile 13 guns? How could that happen?” Ian Mercer asked in an interview outside his California home Saturday, CNN reported.

Shameful Demagogues and Lying Liars

You know what the problem is? FREE voter IDs are available at EVERY SINGLE COUNTY REGISTRAR’S OFFICE IN THE STATE.

…Friday, Hillary Clinton joined a growing nationwide chorus criticizing Alabama for closing driver’s license offices in the state’s poorest, blackest, and most Democratic counties.

In a statement Clinton called it quote “a blast from the Jim Crow past.”

…Mobile County Probate Judge Don Davis disagrees.

“In Alabama there are many different acceptable forms of photo ID,” said Davis.\

He says 90-percent of voters in Mobile County use a driver’s license but there are many other options.

“IDs issued by either the federal government or some agency of department of federal government, indian tribes, a public university or college, other government entities,” Davis said.

For those with none of the above, Alabama also issues a state voter ID card, and not through its driver’s license offices.

“The free voter ID card is actually issued through our boards of registrars,” said Albert Lipscomb who serves on the Baldwin County Board of Registrars. “And every county has a board of registrars.”

You never got them from the driver’s license office to begin with.

Not to mention the fact that the state accepts about 7+ different types of ID at the polls, besides the voter ID. Negating the whole meme.

But.

Jim Crow.

I Know Enough Not to Hold My Breath

I’ve waited all day for this President to talk about the hate crime that was this massacre.

I’ve waited all day for Mr. Can’t Get to a Microphone Fast Enough to express his outrageous outrage at these poor people being slaughtered simply for their faith.

I have waited all day for President the Police Acted Stupidly to vociferously condemn the racist hater who pulled the trigger over and over again, executing each soul based purely on their “Christian” answer.

I’ve waited to hear him call it a hate crime, period, considering his Charleston statement: “…And we know that hatred across races and faiths pose a particular threat to our democracy and our ideals.” Yes, Mr. President. But the flow “across the races and faiths” doesn’t only go one way.

And I’m sure I’ll be waiting to hear him warble Amazing Grace at the memorial service for white Christians martyred by a black shooter.

Sure, right? I’ve been waiting for him to remember he’s the president of ALL of us for quite a while.

Senators press rail nominee on experience, automated trains

Senators pressed President Obama’s choice to run the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) on Thursday on her lack of prior experience in the industry and her insistence on enforcing a December deadline for automating trains.

In the spring, Obama tapped Sarah Feinberg, who has been leading the FRA since January, for a full-time term atop the rail agency, which requires Senate confirmation.

Prior to assuming the role of FRA chief, Feinberg served as Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx’s chief of staff, making her a non-traditional choice to oversee the nation’s railroad industry at a time when multiple passenger and freight-train accidents have raised questions about safety.

…Feinberg took over the FRA after the retirement of Joseph Szabo, a career railroader who resigned from the agency in 2014. Prior to assuming the role of FRA chief, Feinberg served in roles at the White House and Facebook.
