The best part about that list is that you could easily see it being topped by “November 15, 2006: Marion Barry re-elected to office.”
You left out, Marion Barry in jail for drug charges, and Marion Barry gets blow job in lobby of prison visiting area.
Every time I get so disgusted with republicans, I just think back on Marion Barry and William Jefferson, and Nagin. Republicans are pretty much scum, and let the nation down after telling horrible lies over and over again, but at least when they are proven to be scum as individuals, they usually resign or aren’t re-elected. Not so with democrats who do all the above, plus leave young women to die after drunk driving, run male prostitute rings out of their homes, and plaigerize during their college days (Biden). I started to go on with more examples, but there honestly isn’t enough time in the day to list them all. Anyway, being perverts or criminals, or scalawags, or liars is pretty much a guarantee of a democrat getting re-elected.

Those were just the related links on THIS story. So, I’m assuming, the TV station this report is on also has constraints. But they paint the picture pretty effectively. And you’re absolutely right ~ shamed Republicans, even if eventually proven innocent a la Gingrich, step down, resign, SOMETHING in the way of censure and punishment. The party of corruption doesn’t sit on their money grubbing paws as soon as someone blows a whistle. Pack mentality maybe, but at least the evil-doer gets his peepee whacked in some fashion.
Democrats get re-elected and nominated for commmittee chairmanships. Go figure.
