8.8 Quake Hits Chile

Jeebus, it’s a biggie

SANTIAGO, Chile (Reuters) – A massive magnitude-8.8 earthquake struck south-central Chile early on Saturday, killing at least 78 people, knocking down buildings and triggering a tsunami.

Hopefully this massive quake was far enough from major population areas to limit the death toll.

   Oh no. Holy crap. 8.8 is a monster. I agree – I hope the worst damage was away from population centers.
