A judge dismissed the conspiracy charges Monday against Rep. Tom DeLay but refused to throw out the money-laundering charges, dashing his hopes for now of reclaiming his post as House majority leader.

Well, both headlines are true, of course, but the AP manages to uphold its rep as the least biased of the wire services. Tom Delay can rot. Even if he’s ultimately acquitted of everything, he’s still a slimeball, an asshole, and the poster-boy for nearly everything wrong with the congressional GOP.
Dave J goes to great lengths to create yet more synonyms for politician.
He’s despicable.
I realize that was meant in jest, Cullen, but it’s not fair. I’ve known too many politicians to tar most of them as being anywhere near THAT bad.
