    I’m tired of the nonsensical trope ‘respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy’. It’s not true. I don’t have to respect anyone’s religious beliefs – I just have to accept that they hold them.

    That the U.S. embassy (and Hillary! in her little speech this morning) refuse to defend the right to free speech tells me just how well Foggy Bottom represents our interests.
