Floods In Australia
Tim is of course covering this constantly; some of the videos are just horrific.
If you are able, please give what you can. I’m using the Salvation Army because they do amazing work and keep their overhead costs very low; designate “Australian Floods” in the appropriate box.
Thanks, and god bless.
Update: Good god
Just sent a bit their way. Sounds like they were caught completely off guard by this and it’s going to get worse before it gets better.
I prefer NGO donations whenever possible, and the Salvation Army is first rate in getting maximum value to the victims.
Link for people outside Australia wanting to donate via Salvation Army – and as Mr Bingley says, designate “Australian Flood Appeal”

Thanks for the post and the suggestion. The Salvation Army website was very easy to use. I’m going to ask my company if they are matching gifts, as they did in other disasters.
The pictures are just horrific. Stunning.
The Salvation Army is my No. 1 group, God bless ’em.
One of the closed streets in that news item is Sydney Street Brassall. I lived there in 1989, it is right on the Bremer River, which flows through Ipswich and meets the Brisbane River.
It is incredible to see all the water in Brisbane – I lived in Sydney in the 70s, 74 was the last big Brisbane flood.
The Salvation Army is the best way to donate.Amidst all this water is there a thylacine or Tasmanian tiger
seen anywhere?
It’s only water and it will evaporate. But,the thylacine
is gone for good-or maybe not?
glad to hear you’re ok, kae!
Greg you are an insensitive misanthrope.
Oh, Kae, baby! Ditto Bingster’s sentiments!
The scale is STAGGERING. I mean ~ daggum, WHERE does THAT much water come from?
And COME FROM?
And KEEP COMING?
Donation made in true Coalition fashion. God help those people.

My thoughts & prayers are with everyone affected by the floods. The material damage is going to take a lot of time and money to repair; the human damage, needs all the prayers we can muster.
So glad you’re safe, Kae. And thanks, Mr Bingley, for rallying your Coalition to the cause. I’m with you on the Salvos – they do fantastic work.
Oh, spot. That was horrible. Bless his brave, BRAVE little heart.
Dammit.
