I went over to Raceway Park with a friend today and while there were no Javelins to be found there was a ’66 Fairlane
Not quite what she had but close.
There was also this quite lovely looking vehicle
which had this rather…innovative safety feature on the steering wheel

That “safety device” reminds me of Madonna, back when she just becoming an international skank.
Obviously a prototype airbag device… before airbags.
I think you’re on to something, kae. It may have been to make sure you drove very carefully. You damn sure wanted to avoid any sudden brake applications!

That actually was a Chrysler styling feature in the ’50s. Bonus safety enhancements: no seatbelts and slick seat covers.
And don’t forget the seats that only went midway up your shoulder blades for that extra whiplash goodness!
Think that would leave a mark…
I would drive the fuck out of either of those cars.
