“God-Like” Isn’t What It Was Cracked Up to Be

We interrupt the continued deification of Brett Favre — a first-ballot Hall of Famer and the most durable player in NFL history — with the following reality check.
Yes, Favre played long enough to throw the most touchdown passes and collect the most wins by an NFL quarterback. But let’s examine the second half of No. 4’s career. The truth is, Favre did little over the past decade to earn the gushing praise heaped upon him by our fawning brethren in the media.
After beating the San Francisco 49ers in the 1997 NFC Championship Game, Favre won just three of his last 10 playoff games. Eli Manning had more postseason wins in a 29-day span this past season than Favre had in his last decade with the Green Bay Packers.
And reality checks suck. So, enough already with the ‘comeback’, “Waaaaaaaa, I didn’t wanna quit!”.
Quit being a selfish prick who believes his own publicity and let somebody else have a shot while you still have some luster.

Hilarious, and funny as hell, obviously.
But cold.
And remember, being a pro athlete has a lot of nice percocets, I mean perks, and I’m sure Brett doesn’t want to give those up.
Gene Wojciechowski says what Favre is doing is diva-ish. He stopped short of calling him a diva, though. I won’t. He is a diva.
He threw more stupid interceptions than any pro QB in his last few seasons. He needs to retire.
He’s thrown stupid interceptions his entire career. Of all of the HoF QBs in Canton (He’s a lock unless he gets in trouble), he would be all the way at the bottom of my list of QBs I’d pick. Probably below Walter Payton. That said, I do like the guy … just wouldn’t want him on my team.
The sports newscasters here in Tampa are foaming out the mouth with all the rumors that Favre is coming to the Bucs.
I’m getting sick of hearing it.
Favre must remember the 49ers traded Joe Montana,
and the Yankees let Babe Ruth go in 1934, because
he wanted to go into management, and they thought
he was too stupid.
The rich get richer because they’re evil bastards.
But,Favre should be released to play with whomever he wants,Outside of 2007, he’s played poorly for at least 4 years.
