Happy 236th Birthday

…to My Beloved United States Marine Corps!!

And Happy Birthday!! to all the wonderful, incredible, indescribable brothers and sisters in arms it’s been my great good fortune to meet and call “dear friends” along the way. I have been so VERY blessed.

Ever the romantic about these sort of things, major dad says:

   I will be in Pearl Harbor in exactly 6 days. I’m not ashamed to admit that I openly cry every time I go there. The last time I attended, I had a conversation with a Pearl Harbor veteran who was a mechanic, doing a brake job on a sergeant’s jeep when the attack commenced. I will never forget the emotion in that old soldier’s voice, nor the look on his face when I hugged him like he was my own father. He may well be in Heaven now, but he remains a nameless hero to me. God Bless all of those that sacrificed to give us what we have today. I hope we can hold on to it.
