He Might Be Best Remembered as “Columbo”
Peter Falk, TV’s rumpled Columbo, has died
LOS ANGELES – Peter Falk, the stage and movie actor who became identified as the squinty, rumpled detective in “Columbo,” which spanned 30 years in primetime television and established one of the most iconic characters in police work, has died. He was 83.
But he’ll always be my favorite big screen “Grampa”.
‘Night, Mr. Falk. Rest in peace.
Bummer. One of my family’s favorite movies ever was The Great Race. We watched it whenever it came on. 1965 and no one is still alive. I think he was the last one. RIP, Peter.
Also great in Pocketful of Miracles, another family fave. He had the sidekick schtick down.
We just saw him while Netflix-ing the original Twilight Zone. He plays a Castro lookalike who takes over a country with several faithful (and distinctly NON-hispanic) friends. He was good; the episode, not so much.
RIP, Mr Falk.
Aw, dang! Vale, Mr. Falk. you will be missed.
