Houston, We Have A Problem
So I’m in the Port Authority Bus Terminal at, oh, 10 pm last night waiting for my bus home after a dinner that ran waaaaaay too late and as I make my way to my gate I hear a commotion.
There’s this guy in his late 60s, using a cane and either he was a few sandwiches short of a picnic or under the influence of some chemical enhancers (and perhaps both) but there he is, trying to walk up the down escalator.
There was oh 10 or so people standing around him saying “Sir, you’re going the wrong way” etc but he seemed, well, content to be getting in touch with his inner Sisyphus, completely unwilling/unable to realize that perhaps he was wrong in spite of all the evidence there to.
I assume he’s had a prolific governmental career.
Rage against the machine!
Perhaps we could arrange for Mrs. Ocasio of Houston VA Cemetery to stand beside him whilst counselling him on his probably imminent departure
In a strictly non-sectarian manner, naturally Mike.
With a government approved stamp-of-departure message.
Government employees will sometimes take the citizen escalator when the government escalator is too crowded, Mr B.
Was he muttering,”the food sucks here?”
So when told he was going up the wrong escalator he just staired, eh?
Bingley, talking about yourself in third person is a sign of bigger issues…
Judge not. Who among us has not been shitfaced in the Port Authority Bus Terminal?
Well, crap. There’s something I missed as a child, never having BEEN to the bus terminal, drunk or otherwise.
Anybody else? I know Kcruella’s probably done it. Sounds just like her.
Turns out he’s a government economist who unexpectedly encountered conditions contrary to those he forecasted.
Yes I have been to the terminal and it’s been cleaned up since the late 70’s. And if THS ever gets up here Mr Bingley and I would be happy yo give her a tour.
And yes I have been there after a few cocktails
Why was there not a video of this ascent to the top of the Himalayas?
*sob*
