I Can’t Answer My Own Question

…which was:

Why did I ask? Because of the insane crap EXPLODING today about Romney’s perfectly acceptable and respectful visit to the NAACP yesterday like THIS:

MSNBC: Romney NAACP speech part of ‘racist’ southern strategy

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Last night on MSNBC, host Lawrence O’Donnell said that Romney’s NAACP speech was part of a Republican ‘southern strategy’ used to appeal to ‘racial and racist voting.’

Speaking to TheGrio.com’s Goldie Taylor, O’Donnell said, “Tell me, Goldie, if I’m being too cynical, to think that the Romney campaign actually went in that room today with the hope of getting booed, at least three times, because they want the video of their candidate being booed by the NAACP to play in certain racist precincts where that will actually help them.”

Taylor agreed with O’Donnell’s assessment, adding Romney appeared “paternalistic” and criticized him for using a “derisive word” like “Obamacare” to describe the President’s Affordable Health Care act.

Another one O’Donnell’s guests, Mark Thompson, said that Romney appeared “culturally ignorant” after referring to an African-American serving in his “kitchen cabinet” when he was governor in Massachusetts.

“To talk about being in the kitchen and not talk about an African-American actually being in your cabinet is really not a good metaphor to use with African-Americans,” he said disapprovingly.

Toure, a MSNBC co-host, questioned Romney’s use of slogan, “if you understand who I truly am in my heart.”

“Isn’t that the kind of thing you hear people say when they’re accused of being racist, and they’re trying to make an apology?” he asked.

I can’t even pick who’s the most hateful Mayor of Crazy Town, because they clearly ALL need a rubber room and in-depth therapy with LOTS of chemicals and hot wires.

And, no, I am NOT apologizing.

ths update: Exhibit B: Michael Tomasky on Mitt Romney the Race Baiter at the NAACP.

Hateful, desperate loons, the lot of them.

Unfortunately, this hateful desperation will resonate with that portion of America who drinks the same Kool Aid.

On the flip side, this much transparently desperate spin means that Romney’s NAACP speech was very successful. Maybe he’s been pulling his punches until now?

I often wonder how far these guys have to walk before ducking into a room to burst out laughing. Surely, O’Donnell assumes his audience, shrinking as it it, is menally challenged. I think that’s a fair assumption to make, soley on the basis that they’re watching him.

His nonsense is usually leaden but this is particularly pitiful.

  3. JeffS says:

And then there’s Wolf Blitzer scolding President Zero for not attending the NAACP convention.

Sounds like MSNBC and CNN aren’t coordinating their talking points very well, huh?

  4. Syd B. says:

Not a one of those present and booing Mitt care a thing about black unemployment and or poverty. Fact is every one of them already has his teat to feed on and needs to keep the status quo, going so mama gubmint don’t go “dry” on them. Race pimps are perfectly willing to use their own as cannon fodder to make sure they continue to fart through silk.

  5. aelfheld says:

Syd, why assume O’Donnell is a charlatan? I give him the credit (such as it is) of meaning what he says and believing his audience shares his convictions. That what he says is deranged and morally insane detracts in no way from his sincerity.

  6. Gary from Jersey says:

Good points, Syd.The NAACP etc. are the house help on the new plantation and they have plenty to lose if the field hands get uppity.

THS: Relax and enjoy. It’s all they have left.

  7. JeffS says:

I forget where I read this, but someone noted that the NAACP is a “dead” organization — the majority of the members are fairly old. Very few younglings. That’s fitting for a communist organization bent on enslaving the next generation through debt and peonage.

  8. Dave E. says:

The funniest thing about that Tomasky piece is how he talks about the word “Obamacare” being such an insult to the president’s supporters. Of course, as Darleen at Protein Wisdom, points out Obama himself is selling “Obamacare” items at his own campaign website.

Why, oh why, does Obama hate on his supporters so? Hahaha.

  9. Gunslinger says:

At this rate Romney won’t have to spend a dime reaching out to independents. These clowns are practically hand delivering the indy vote to the Romney camp.
