I Could Tell You For $115
Larry Ellison of Oracle stiffs Harvard.
“He was enthusiastic and I am deeply committed to this project,” said Prof Murray. “Right now we just don’t know whose health systems are working and what should be done to improve health, which is one of the largest sectors in the economy globally.”
A spokesman for Mr Ellison at Oracle refused to comment yesterday.
Okay ~ back off the Big Macs, drink more and eat only dark chocolate. No white after Labor Day.

Academic barnacles.
I’m confused. Why didn’t he pay?
So is Harvard Mike, and their 900 pound brains are bigger than yours. Schmaybe he’s a welshman?
Maybe he found a new dumpster to dive in.
Harvard has an endowment of what 15 plus billion? Like they need the money.
“The delays come amid uncertainty at Harvard following the imminent resignation of Larry Summers, its president, although fund-raising during his leadership fell to a 16-year low in 2005.”
Might be because Mr. Ellis wanted to wait and see how his money might be used under new leadership. Or there’s that lawsuit mentioned in the article.
Ellis is a businessman. You know — a dirty capitalist? Let’s not lose sight of that.
But he should have been more forthcoming about the matter, I agree. But to start hiring people when “the check is in the mail”? Sorry, no sympathy from me for this level of buffonery.
He’s doing his usual shtick between Stanford and Haavaad. He claims to want to fund an institute to study the effects of technology on politics and economics. It’s all about recognition and ego with the big donors.
He’s going to have to work harder to out-do the Bio-tech guys and the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine under Irv Weissman, they’re rolling in dough.
They better ask him nicely though; doesn’t he have a huge collection of katanas that he likes to use?
I was off a bit, the Havard Endowment is north of 22 billion.
Hey, what’s $6 billion, major dad? A minor accounting error in some places.
what’s $6 billion
Oh, I forgot who you work for. $6 billion is our whole budget.
