As one who has nearly chopped off several fingers, this isn’t that bad of an idea 😉
With my personal degree of dexterity, it’s all I can do to hold the knife. The last thing I need is trying to balance a cutting shield on the other hand at the same time as holding the whatever-it-is I’m cutting.
This picture isn’t as bad as the one in the catalogue ~ they’re ‘slicing’ scallions in that and it looks like a colossal, awkward waste of time.
It is, Sis. All you need are a few large thimbles to prevent nicks. (If you take off a finger at the knuckle, then you’re careless enough to overcome any safety device anyway.)
Be mean and buy them a mandolin… no more fingers at all!
