I THOUGHT I’d Lost ALL Respect for Him LONG Ago

Turns out I STILL had a teensy little bit left for the pandering douchebag that could dribble away this morning:

Powell: Martin verdict ‘questionable’

History will record as “questionable” a Florida jury’s decision to find George Zimmerman not guilty in the death of Trayvon Martin, Colin Powell said Sunday.
But Powell, the nation’s first black secretary of state, said he didn’t think the decision would have long-term staying power.

What an ass.

Powell jumped the shark long ago. This is just trying for a longer flight, is all.

This phenomenon of apparently solid conservatives (like Powell used to be) turning to mush has me wondering if the EPA hasn’t been experimenting with some new kinds of smog.

(The AQMD did it regularly when I lived in SoCal.)

Colin Powell is, thankfully, irrelevant and has been for decades. The only one who seems to have missed that bit of information is Colin Powell.

Leelu, I’m sorry to say your memory betrays you. Powell was never a conservative, solid, shaky, or any other sort. He is the product of a bureaucratic racial spoils system that rewards just the sort of equivocation he exemplifies.

    Exactly, Skyler.

And you’re right, aelf. He’s a miserable squish.

I lost all respect for Powell in Gulf War I, when he got all squeemish over the video from the “road to Basra” slaughter of the IRG looters fleeing Kuwait, and basically called off the war because of fear of bad optics. That was the very point my disgust overwhelmed my “Well, he must know best since he’s still in the loop and I left the service 10 years ago..” mentality. He’s NEVER given me reason to go back. Never.

He’s a weak, pandering loser. Sorry.

It was the fake speech at the UN.
Nuclear bomb cylinders and all that. That was a sin, unpardonable.
