I’m Afraid

I wouldn’t have lasted much longer after my first, less mind THIRD.

PORTAGE, Mich. – A bowler collapsed and died at a bowling alley shortly after rolling the third perfect game of his life.

The more I think about it, ever breaking 200 would have killed me. Lucky thing I didn’t have to worry about it.

Yeah, I read that one, too. One guy even said that this would have been his wish.
About bowling: When I was a kid, there were only a handful of people who had ever rolled 300. Someone shot two 300s and a 288 one night in the last league I was in about 15 years ago. The feat of shooting 300 has been considerably cheapened. I’ve never done it but there were 8-10 guys in our league who had.

Oh, and Happy New Year to the Coalition.

  3. Happy New Year to Crab Apple Lane, Rob! Hope you and Patsy have the BEST evening.
We’ve always been a bowling kind of clan and I’ve never been present when someone’s rolled a 300. How wild. And I’m amazed there’s so many! Is it technology?

Maybe they don’t drink as much beer as we do, Sis.

Technology is most definitely the culprit and I think bowling alleys like that. High scoring is exciting. Excitement like that is good for business.

Drinking is the natural follow-through of bowling, Mr. Bingley. In fact, the inventor who can drop a long neck right at the release point will make a killing. I was in a men’s league that bowled on Thursday night. The tight asses at that alley bowled on Wednesday night.
