…“Based on what we know about Cullerton’s bill, firearms that would be banned include all semiautomatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns. Pump action shotguns would be banned as well. This would be a very comprehensive ban that would include not only so-called ‘assault weapons’ but also such classics as M1 Garands and 1911-based pistols. There would be no exemptions and no grandfathering. You would have a very short window to turn in your guns to the State Police to avoid prosecution.”

That’s a serious WTF right there, not to mention UNFUCKINGCONSTITUTIONAL!!!

It’s a negotiation tactic – first propose banning everything to end up banning something, like assault rifles and repeater clips (how’d I do with that language, considering the only gun I’ve ever touched is Dad’s unloaded pistol from the Korean War?)
Sounds like the perfect solution. When all the criminals lineup to turn in their illegal weapons the cops can arrest them for outstanding violations. It’s one stop shopping. What could possibly go wrong?

Give them credit for crazy within crazy by leaving revolvers out of the equation. Now you can exchange that sissy .40 for a .357 MAGNUM! What’s not to like about that?
Not too bad Ave but they are not assault rifles, media and the left love to call them that. They just look like assault rifles as they are not full automatics. The media likes to talk how powerful these weapons are but in fact in most states they are illegal to use on deer because they are just a .22 caliber varmit round not suitable for large game. And they are magazines, not repeater clips. This is what the left wants thought, banning all weapons and it is why groups like the NRA oppose more gun laws because if you give an inch they take a mile. BTW there are more gun laws than you can count on the books. How many gun related homicides in Chicago this last year, 530 or so? Only the bad guys have the guns there and they use them against each other and the law abiding. Shootings go way down when the the bad guys know the good guys have guns. Illinois is going down the tubes almost as fast as California, turn your law abiding citizens into felons, real smart…

Diane Feinstein,same deal when she tried to outlaw handguns in San Francisco.No Joke,she had a permit to carry a handgun in her purse at the time.I guess,
