It’s Memorial Day Weekend
Here in NJ it’s 46º degrees with a frigid driving rain. I just dove into a thick sweatshirt and rag wool socks.
CURSE YOU ALGORE!!!!!!!!!!

It was 35ºF here this morning. It’s just not right having to scrape frost off of your windshield at the end of May.
Guns, we clearly need to get federal subsidies to buy big honkin’ SUVs!
(hangs head guiltily, hoping they don’t find out it’s 85 degrees right now in Houston)
Make mine a vintage Suburban pick-up.
That’s awesome, Guns! We had a 72 Dodge Powerwagon when we were growing up…man, what I would give for that now!
Umm – y’all think you could send ALGORE down here to SW FL? Our high today was 93 and it’s going to be 92 tomorrow. Down to the high 80’s for Memorial Day, but still. 90’s shouldn’t be around till June when we get the monsoons to cool things off come afternoon.
There oughta be a law – Al Gore must spend late spring through summer in USDA zones 9+. (That’ll keep us cool, and you warm. 😛 )
Oh, and we’d lend him back to you if you had a bad heat wave – we aren’t cruel. 😀
And Julie, no need to hang your head – it’s only because ALGORE is nowhere near Houston (or Fort Myers) that we are getting all this warm. Just send him to either place and we’d be in sweaters…
We had several inches of snow in the mountains throughout the Pacific Northwest — including the lower ones near my home, the Blue Mountains. Where I spent much of today, working on a project. I was below the snow line, but not by much.
Down in the flatlands, it’s just cold.
