May be getting to see a movie on Tuesday…
Movie website here.
Joss Whedon, the Oscar® – and Emmy – nominated writer/director responsible for the worldwide television phenomena of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE, ANGEL and FIREFLY, now applies his trademark compassion and wit to a small band of galactic outcasts 500 years in the future in his feature film directorial debut, Serenity. The film centers around Captain Malcolm Reynolds, a hardened veteran (on the losing side) of a galactic civil war, who now ekes out a living pulling off small crimes and transport-for-hire aboard his ship, Serenity. He leads a small, eclectic crew who are the closest thing he has left to family –squabbling, insubordinate and undyingly loyal.
Never saw the series on TV it is derived from, but it sounds interesting.
I’ll try to give my thoughts on it once I’ve seen it, but be warned, my tastes in movies is…um…odd.
My taste is eclectic as well, Crusader. I look forward to your thoughts.
Just ignore whatever negative statements THS might make in response….I’ve noticed that she tends to be biased against Vulcans. Thus, we can safely discount her opinions on this topic.
It’s good to be the King, JeffS.
Thank you, King Bingley!
I saw part of the TV show it was based on. Looks decent enough.
My regular Sci-Fi haunt has some folks who are dieing to see this.
The things I’ve read about it sound like it has a lot of potential.
Poetry in pajamas
Alan K. Henderson waxes poetic. I know some folks who will appreciate it. I’m sure I’d appreciate it more if I knew WTF y’all are talking about….
