Oh

…yeah. Happy Birthday, ya big, green lug.

That’s one of the prettiest pictures I’ve ever seen.

The Post is a little optimistic. The Yankees didn’t start kicking any asses of any kind until Ruth arrived, and that was 1920.

And it got even better yesterday!

    I am just in heaven.

They were the Highlanders then, Fly, but so what? Seeing Red Sox fans suffer like that for so long does a guy good.

I dunno, Gary, I was kind of happy for them when they finally broke through. ’67, ’75, ’86 were horrible heartbreaking years. The Bruins were always near-misses. They had the Celtics back for a while in the 80’s but after Len Bias and Reggie Lewis, they were nowhere for a long while.

Maybe it’s because of my Bostonite cousins, or their bona-fides as true thick-and-thin rooters, but I could never hate Sox fans the way I hate all those dumb bandwagoners flitting around in their pink jerseys once a team looks like a winner. “Ooooh, Sid Crosby, squeeeee!” Yeah, squee this, puckbunny.
