Oh, Noes!!!!! NOT Captain Phil!!
Discovery Channel: ‘Deadliest Catch’ Captain Dies
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Phil Harris, the fishing boat captain whose adventures off the Alaska coast were captured on the television show “Deadliest Catch”, has died, the Discovery Channel said Tuesday night. He was 53.
We’ve watched the show for at least four years now. In the last two, Phil’s gone from coughing up blood when a clot ripped through his system to spending last season dry-docked on shore because of his health. And then there’d be shots of him outside the hospital ~ after talking to his boys on the Cornelia Marie ~ sitting in the snow, snagging a smoke and major dad’d be telling the TV, “Phil, you’re gonna die…”
What a shame. He was one tough son of a bitch, but sometimes that’s just not enough, you know? We’ll miss him mucho and our thoughts go out to his boys.
It’s been sad to see his deterioration. He was a good man.
Aw, that’s sad. I hadn’t heard that.
Tough SOB is right. But he also showed a lot of concern for his crew and other boats. I remember him stopping his haul to sail a long way to a boat in distress and the look on his face when he got there too late.
RIP, Phil.
He really, really was, Skyler. Yup.
Oh, I remember that, Gary.
And he loved those boys like nobody’s business. Damndamndamn.
