Rev. Jesse Stirring the Pot

…and not the way ~ or the reverend ~ you’d think.

…Prior to 40 years ago, such a pathetic performance by the black community in a time of crisis would have been inconceivable. The first response would have come from black men. They would take care of their families, bring them to safety, and then help the rest of the community. Then local government would come in.

Wow.

Wow! He said that out loud? I’m not on board with his “three days in the Superdome” bit – that turned out to be a gross distortion to blame Bush for – but he hits a little closely to home in some spots. He should point much more plausibly to the actual open looting on the streets as people waded through brackish water to forage essentials such as designer clothes and electronics.
Then again, sometimes Rev JJ raps true, such as his famous “We lost more to dope than we ever lost to the rope” rant.

  2. Fooled you, Diptera. Different “Reverend Jesse”. {8^P

That was a kick-ass piece of commentary.

No, I saw the byline and the photo – I guess my transition was sloppy.

I recall reading this last September — a good commentary.
