Shockingly, He Was A Presbyterian

Certainly that thought was never on anyone’s mind

A Muslim convert shot dead a Canadian soldier at the National War Memorial in Ottawa today before exchanging dozens of shots with guards inside Parliament in a terrifying attack that left the nation’s capital on lockdown.
Michael Zehaf-Bibeau fatally shot Corporal Nathan Cirillo, a 24-year-old father, as he stood guard at the War Memorial on Wednesday morning.
Zehaf-Bibeau then ran inside the Parliament, where he opened fire before he was shot dead by the House of Commons Sergeant-at-Arms.
Zehaf-Bibeau, who had a criminal history for drug trafficking in Montreal and robbery in Vancouver, was born in Quebec as Michael Joseph Hall but recently converted to Islam, CBS reported.
Sources told the Globe and Mail that he had been designated ‘high-risk traveler’ and government had seized his passport

Mind you, in the continuing annals of Self-Delusion, the Canadian Globe and Mail provides more background information on this fellow without ever in the entire article being able to bring themselves around to actually saying it

Federal sources have identified the suspected shooter as Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, a man in his early 30s who was known to Canadian authorities.

Sources told The Globe and Mail that he was recently designated a “high-risk traveller” by the Canadian government and was unable to secure the appropriate travel documentation, thus blocking his attempt to travel abroad. The circumstances are similar to that surrounding the case of Martin Rouleau-Couture, the Quebecker who was shot Monday after running down two Canadian Forces soldiers with his car.

Mr. Zehaf-Bibeau was born in 1982 and was the son of Bulgasem Zehaf, a Quebec businessman who appears to have fought in 2011 in Libya, and Susan Bibeau, the deputy chairperson of a division of Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Board.

Mr. Zehaf-Bibeau has a record in Quebec in the early 2000s for petty crimes such as possession of drugs, credit-card forgery and robbery. He was also charged with robbery in 2011 in Vancouver.

The “similar circumstances” being conversion to that Peaceful Lifestyle.

So nothing at all to see here, really.

The conversion wasn’t that far a stretch. Another thing the Canadian lefty papers are not revealing is that the shooter’s father, Bulgasem Zehaf was from Libya and traveled there in 2011 to fight. You may note the son recently took his father’s Arabic name.

“son of Bulgasem Zehaf, a Quebec businessman who appears to have fought in 2011 in Libya”.

    On whose side?

  4. Mr. Bingley says:

    I’m guessing “not ours” Fausta.

Not that I’m even sure what side ‘ours’ was.

Actually he fought against Ghaddafi, according to something I read on the Guardian.

The problem is that these first gen mixed culture kids are not being given anything to hold onto and value in the “West,” a large proportion of which no longer believes in itself. Our cultural elites constantly tell us how terrible we are, and young men like this one take that message at face value. Why should we be surprised at the result?

NJSue, considering the cesspit Libya has become since Obama ‘led with his behind led from behind’, it’s a bit difficult to see how fighting against the old desert queen is a good thing.
