Show Them True Colors, Chef

According to Isaac it’s ok to pick on jews and christians and blacks and mohammed…but don’t fug with xenu!

Isaac Hayes has quit “South Park,” where he voices Chef, saying he can no longer stomach its take on religion….
“Religious beliefs are sacred to people, and at all times should be respected and honored,” he continued. “As a civil rights activist of the past 40 years, I cannot support a show that disrespects those beliefs and practices.”
…”South Park” co-creator Matt Stone responded sharply in an interview with The Associated Press Monday, saying, “This is 100 percent having to do with his faith of Scientology… He has no problem – and he’s cashed plenty of checks – with our show making fun of Christians.”
Last November, “South Park” targeted the Church of Scientology and its celebrity followers, including actors Tom Cruise and John Travolta, in a top-rated episode called “Trapped in the Closet.” In the episode, Stan, one of the show’s four mischievous fourth graders, is hailed as a reluctant savior by Scientology leaders, while a cartoon Cruise locks himself in a closet and won’t come out.
Stone told The AP he and co-creator Trey Parker “never heard a peep out of Isaac in any way until we did Scientology. He wants a different standard for religions other than his own, and to me, that is where intolerance and bigotry begin.”

Yeah, yeah, I know I copied almost the entire article, but the comments by Stone are just so perfect.
“Come out of the closet, Tom.”

You won’t see this no more…

Who’s the black animate that’s a gag machine for all the faiths?
    CHEF!
Who is the dude that would risk his job for Tommy Cruise?
    CHEF!
Who’s the cat that won’t cop out, until Xenu starts to pout?
    CHEF!
They say those thetans are some bad mutha-
    Watch yo mouth!
    I’m just talkin’ about Xenu…
    (we can dig it!)
He’s a complicated man, and no-one understands him but Travolta!

  2. Oh, so nobody gets on Saint Bingley for his neverending South Park affliction ~ any cheap a$$ excuse to put pictures up there ~ but a little Hasselhoff once in a while and we all lose our collective pinheads?
You all suck and play favorites like Sister Mary Elephant in third grade.

  3. Mike Rentner says:

    1. South Park characters are cute.
    2. Hasselhof in a speedo is nasty.
    3. Sister Mary Elephant was hilarious in 7th grade when I first heard it.

  4. Emily says:

I’m actually *thrilled* about this. The hypocrisy pointed out by Stone is so glaring that all it can do is make the “church” look bad, and anything that does that (which isn’t very hard) is a good thing.

  5. Oh, Miss Emily, then you’ll LOVE a little more on the subject that I just sent Bingster from “Page Six” in the NY Post.

Stone and his partner, Trey Parker, have said they avoided mocking Scientology for years because they didn’t want to upset Hayes, whose rumbling baritone provides the voice for horny cook Chef on Comedy Central’s highest-rated show.

Parker explained last year: “To be honest, what kept us from doing it before was Isaac Hayes. We knew he was a Scientologist and he’s an awesome guy. We’re like, ‘Let’s just avoid that for now.’ “

But Stone and Parker apparently changed their minds when they learned their illusionist pal Penn Jillette had been banned from making fun of Scientology on his Showtime series, “Bulls – – t.”

“Finally, we just had to tell Isaac, ‘Dude, we totally love working with you, and this is nothing personal, it’s just we’re ‘South Park,’ and if we don’t do this, we’re belitting everything else we’ve ripped on,’ ” Parker said.
