Senate Dems warn GOP not to block legislation

And they talk about Obama being “clueless”. I find it har…okay. Never mind.

Dingy Harry’s already talking smack

…Reid, especially, renewed a threat he made before, that Republicans must stop obstructing and start cooperating. The majority leader, who survived a close reelection battle, said he spoke early Wednesday afternoon with Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

“Republicans must take their responsibility to solve the problems of ordinary Americans,” Reid said. “Simply saying ‘no,’ as we’ve had this past Congress … won’t bring jobs back. It won’t strengthen the economy, and it won’t help families who are struggling to make ends meet. ‘No’ is not the answer. It has to be ‘yes.’ Not our ‘yes,’ but a combined ‘yes,’ something we work out — a consensus ‘yes.’”

…and I was going to say that I found it hard to believe he had the nerve, but who am I kidding right? That it took him two whole days to revert to form should be the surprise.

So Mitch McConnell, who I am developing newfound respect for, should tell him to blow it out his ass, AGAIN, and suggest he read the papers, ask the Democratic walking dead of the House who should be returning for the last bit of their terms shortly ~ or, at the very least, count the empty pudding cups piled up in the Dempsy Dumpsters surrounding the Capital once Bingley, Ace, Blair and Paco get done with their little gathering ~ for auguries. Better to use them than the bones of his fellow members, because that’s all that’ll be left if he keeps it up. Not that there’s anything wrong with THAT either, but I like to give people a chance to change their ways.

    Auguries?

Pudding cups have intestines? Who knew?

Reid is a tool of the first order. Don’t think for minute that the Dem senators up for re-election in 2012 didn’t notice what just happened. If they stick with Reid they are toast.

Reid is repeating his pre-election posturing…..only this time, the Demonrats don’t control the House, and can muster (at best!) a *simple* majority in the Senate.

So, yep, I agree — McConnell needs to tell Reid to blow it out of his ass. Reid should have been “seeking consensus” in January 2009. Instead, he choose to urinate on everyone, for which he — and the Demonratic party — paid the price on Tuesday.

Time for me to write a letter to a number of Republican Congresscritters, reminding them WHY we rose up.

  4. JeffS says:

PS: major dad, I suspect that the dimple majority that the Demonrats enjoys in the Senate will be limited to showcase votes for their leftie supporters. When it comes to being re-elected in 2012, a lot of Reid’s party will vote with that in mind.

  5. JeffS says:

    “simple”, not “dimple”. Dang!

  6. Yojimbo says:

Well, dimple on the *** of progress works, TRJ. Let’s keep it.

I dunno, the lefty support doesn’t cut it for some of these guys. They try and stick with the obamacare or try and push amnesty I think you’ll see some of those senators, who will be up for election in 2012, balk. Just to survive mind you.

  8. JeffS says:

Possibly, major dad, but I’m thinking of showcase votes, like meaningless resolutions, or bills that won’t pass the House, etc. Votes that won’t piss off the majority of the voters, that is.

    Hey Harry,

    “We Won”.

I’ll remember this “obstructionism” crap when Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is trying to filibuster Marco Rubio in 2013.
