Someone Pounding on the Door, Yelling “U.S. Marines!”

Semper Fi. Just wish there had been more of them. THEY know how to do things. They did a polite nod to FEMA there, but…well.
Send in the Marines, the Coast Guard, National Guard and (God Bless them) the Salvation Army. You can send in the Red Cross, FEMA and whoever else later. Because they aren’t going to be on the ground in less than 24 hours when the hurricane (or other coastal storm-call it what you will) sh** hits the fan.

I honestly have NO idea how the Salvation Army got down here so fast after Charley–but they did.

America is blessed to have people such as these Marines.

I’m going to be contrarian here. I didn’t join the Marines to be picking up trash for the wealthiest neighborhoods in the country.

The Marines undercut the work entrepreneurs who could have done that work and been paid for it.

Going to save lives is one thing and I support that, but pumping out basements and picking up debris for these well-to-do people is too much.

    Skyler….

  5. Skyler says:

Really, they are some of the wealthiest people in the world living there. Beyond immediate life saving help, why should the Marines be picking up their garbage and pumping out their basements?
